 We are made in the image and likeness of God. You are a man, O Christian. You are therefore a coin from the divine treasury, a denarius bearing the image and inscription of the divine Emperor. Therefore, I ask with Christ: Whose are this image and this inscription? You answer: “God’s.” I add: “Why, then, do you not give to God what is His?” If we are to be truly an image of God, we must resemble Christ, since He is the image of God’s goodness and the likeness that expresses His very being.
